FLAKED (Netflix; W: Mark Chappell & Will Arnett; D: TBA) - Travis Mills is the latest to be cast in the upcoming comedy, the serio-comic story of a self-appointed "guru" who falls for the object (Ruth Kearney) of his best friend's (David Sullivan) fascination. Soon the tangled web of half-truths and semi-bullshit that underpins his all-important image and sobriety begins to unravel. Will Arnett plays Chip, a man doing his honest best to stay one step ahead of his own lies. He'll play Stefan, "owner of the local coffee shop and on the more absurd end of the hipster spectrum." George Basil, Lina Esco and Robert Wisdom also star. (Deadline.com)


OH MAMA (NBC, New!) - Claudia Lonow ("Sean Saves the World") is back in business with the Peacock for a new single-camera comedy, based on a short story written by Ronit Weiss-Berkowitz, which "centers on an engaged couple, Daniel and Marjorie, who struggle to save their relationships when their mothers start having an affair... with each other." Universal Television is behind the project with Keshet Studios' Peter Traugott also executive producing. (Deadline.com)


SONS OF ANARCHY (FX) - Kurt Sutter has revealed the first details about a proposed spin-off of the biker drama, which "will center on the Mayans Motorcycle Club, which played a key role in the original." Fox 21 Television Studios and FX Productions are behind the untitled project, which "will not be set in Northern California as 'Sons' was." It's not clear if Marcus Alvarez (Emilio Rivera), President of the Oakland charter, will be featured, nor if it is a prequel or sequel to the parent series. Further development isn't expected until Sutter completes work on the inaugural season of "The Bastard Executioner." (THR.com)


TIME (NBC, New!) - Eric Kripke ("Supernatural") and Shawn Ryan ("The Shield") are set to team for a new drama about "an unlikely trio traveling through time to battle unknown criminals in order to protect history as we know it." The Sony Pictures Television-based hour has a pilot production commitment with Kripke Enterprises' Kripke; Davis Entertainment's John Davis and John Fox; and MiddKid Productions' Ryan and Marney Hochman executive producing. TRIAL, THE (Amazon; W: David E. Kelley & Jonathan Shapiro; D: David Semel) - Maria Bello and Tania Raymonde are both on track to join the drama project, which centers on Billy McBride (Billy Bob Thornton), a once respectable lawyer who was ousted from the high-profile firm he co-founded. Billy now spends his days getting drunk, with the occasional case tossed his way by his ex-wife. Bello is set as said ex-wife Julie McBride, "a beautiful, brilliant and accomplished co-founding partner of a law firm who is successful professionally, but not personally after losing the love of her life, Billy"; while Raymonde is in talks to play Brittany Gold, "a likeable, smart and savvy working girl who is an old friend of Billy's." Olivia Thirlby and William Hurt also star. (THR.com)


UNTITLED AMY HOLDEN JONES PROJECT (CBS, New!) - Amy Holden Jones ("Black Box") has snagged a put pilot commitment from the Eye for a new drama which "centers on an explosive, rule-breaking, fearless female detective with no filter who enlists the help of a polite and gentle brainiac who studies the biology of evil to solve cases for the LA Violent Crimes Unit." 20th Century Fox Television is behind the hour with Flying Glass of Milk Productions' Matt Nix also executive producing. UNTITLED ELIZABETH BECKWITH PROJECT (FOX, New!) - Elizabeth Beckwith has sold a semi-autobiographical single-camera comedy to the network billed as "a father-son workplace comedy set in 1970s Las Vegas." Sony Pictures Television-based Davis Entertainment is behind the half-hour with the company's John Davis and John Fox executive producing alongside Thruline Entertainment's Willie Mercer and Chris Henze. UNTITLED KENNY SCHWARTZ/RICK WIENER PROJECTS (ABC, New!) - Kenny Schwartz and Rick Wiener ("Modern Family") have set up at pair of comedies at the Alphabet, both of which have penalties attached. First up is one inspired by Schwartz's real-life story and "revolves around a gay couple that gets divorced with both men remarrying and raising their budding teenage daughters together, despite the pitfalls of their different families." The other is about "a woman who burns all of her bridges when she finds out she has terminal cancer, only to learn that she's actually in remission, forcing her to turn to her family and move in with her estranged sister and kids." ABC Studios is behind both half-hours. (Variety.com)


URBAN COWBOY (FOX/20th/Paramount; W/D: Craig Brewer) - Jim Belushi has joined the cast of the network's modern reimagining of the 1980 movie, about star-crossed young lovers Kyle (Alfonso Herrera) and Gaby as they pursue their dreams and passions through the sweat of line dancing in honky tonks, the grime of the oil refineries and the glamour of modern Texas. It's about family legacies, starting over, finding true love and the American dream. He's set as Marshall Stoval, "a spirited long haul truck driver turned honky tonk bar owner, who is as much of a Houston institution as his bar Gilley's." Belushi also appears in Amazon's "Good Girls Revolt" as the magazine's genteel, conservative managing editor. (Deadline.com)
