BADLANDS (AMC/eOne; W: Al Gough & Miles Millar; D: David Dobkin) - Irish actress Orla Brady has been cast in the upcoming drama, a genre-bending martial arts series very loosely based on the classic Chinese tale "Journey to the West." She'll play Lydia, "Quinn's first wife, the Baroness who runs her domain with an iron grip." Daniel Wu, Emily Beecham, Oliver Stark and Sarah Bolger also star. (Deadline.com)

BREED (TNT; W: John Scott Shepherd; D: Scott Winant) - Nadia Hilker (Spring) and Amber Clayton (St. Vincent) are the first to be cast in the pilot, a supernatural drama centering on a volatile race of creatures who are committing brutal murders in the Pacific Northwest, and the reluctant FBI investigator who pairs with a female assassin to track them. Hilker will play Ruby, "a powerful assassin born of a long line of Eastern European hunters called Avelytes, whose life's work is to stalk and kill the dangerous creatures that are secretly infiltrating the population"; with Clayton as Mandy, "Cooper's girlfriend who followed him from New York to Tacoma after he got fired from the FBI." (Deadline.com)

LIFE IN PIECES (CBS, New!) - Justin Adler ("Better Off Ted") has booked a pilot order from the Eye for a single-camera comedy about "one family is told through the separate stories of its different family members." Kapital Entertainment's Aaron Kaplan also serves as an executive producer on the half-hour, written on spec, for 20th Century Fox Television. (Deadline.com)

OUTSIDERS (WGN; W: Peter Mattei; D: TBA) - Christina Jackson ("Boardwalk Empire") have joined the cast of the upcoming drama, about a struggle for power and control set in the rugged and mysterious hills of Appalachia. She'll play Sally-Ann, "whose fascination with the Farrell clan and Hail (Kyle Gallner) will have powerful consequences." David Morse, Joe Anderson and Thomas M. Wright also star. (Deadline.com)

TAXI-22 (CBS/CBSP; W: Tad Quill; D: TBA) - Actor/comedian John Leguizamo has been tapped to star in the Eye's import of the French Canadian comedy, about "a politically incorrect NYC cab driver." He'll also serve as a co-executive producer alongside his managers, Jeff Golenberg and Sam Maydew. Tad Quill penned the script, originally ordered to pilot a year ago, and is executive producing with Dennis Erdman, Clark Peterson, Patrick Huard, François Flamand, Nancy Sanders, Mark Armstrong and, posthumously, James Gandolfini. (Deadline.com)
