NBC Renews "Hollywood Game Night" for 10-Episode Third Season

NBC RENEWS "HOLLYWOOD GAME NIGHT" FOR 10-EPISODE THIRD SEASON

Jane Lynch Also Set to Return Fresh Off Her Emmy Award for Best Reality Show Host

UNIVERSAL CITY, Calif. - Oct. 3, 2014 - NBC has renewed its popular alternative series "Hollywood Game Night" for a 10-episode third season with Emmy Award-winning host Jane Lynch, it was announced by Paul Telegdy, President of Alternative and Late Night Programming, NBC Entertainment.

In August, Lynch won the Emmy for outstanding host for a reality or reality-series competition. It is Lynch's second Emmy after having won in 2010 for outstanding supporting actress in a comedy series for her role as Sue Sylvester in "Glee." She is also a Golden Globe and Screen Actors Guild winner for "Glee."

Lynch said, "I am so excited to get back to the gaming and to more crazy antics from America's favorite celebrated persons!"

"We're thrilled to be making more 'Hollywood Game Night,'" said Telegdy. "Jane is an amazing host and ringmaster. Let the games begin!"

In "Hollywood Game Night," two contestants are transported from their everyday lives into a once-in-a-lifetime night of fun and celebration as they step beyond the velvet rope and rub shoulders with some of their favorite celebrities and compete for the chance to win up to $25,000.

Guests who appeared in season two include Oscar nominee Don Cheadle, Julie Bowen, Allison Janney, Martin Short, Rosie O'Donnell, Olivia Wilde, Christina Applegate, John Legend, Lauren Graham, Henry Winkler, Adam Scott, Jason Sudeikis, Martha Stewart, Kaley Cuoco-Sweeting, Joe Manganiello, Rita Wilson, Cobie Smulders and Ray Romano.

"Hollywood Game Night" averaged a 1.5 rating, 4 share in adults 18-49 and 5.0 million viewers overall during the traditional September-to-May 2013-14 television season, according to "live plus seven day" results from Nielsen Media Research - up from the show's summer 2013 results of a 1.4/4 in 18-49 and 4.1 million viewers overall. During the 2013-14 season, "HGN" generated an upscale audience, indexing at a 106 among adults 18-49 living in homes with $100K+ incomes (with 100 representing an average concentration of those homes, "most current").

"Hollywood Game Night" is produced by Universal Television in association with Hazy Mills Productions ("Grimm," "Sean Saves the World," "Hot in Cleveland") and Mission Control Media (Syfy's "Face Off"). Sean Hayes, Todd Milliner, Michael Agbabian and Dwight D. Smith are executive producers.
