BRAVO MEDIA JOINS FORCES WITH SPOTIFY TO CELEBRATE NOVEMBER PROGRAMMING
Bravo Becomes Spotify's First U.S. TV Partner Giving Fans Curated Playlists to Accompany the New Seasons of "The Real Housewives of Atlanta," "The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills," "Vanderpump Rules" and "Thicker Than Water"
NEW YORK - November 11, 2013 - Bravo Media announced today a new, first-of-its-kind partnership with music streaming service Spotify. In celebration of Bravo's November premieres, the network has joined forces with Spotify to build evolving playlists for several of its shows including "The Real Housewives of Atlanta," "The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills," "Vanderpump Rules" and "Thicker Than Water."
Bravo is Spotify's first U.S. TV partner to partake in custom playlists curated around specific shows. Updated playlists will post the day of each episode's premiere to provide a fun new way to engage fans with the show. Serving as a reflection of each series' tone and theme, playlists will be updated weekly by a music supervisor to reflect as each show develops with events such as break ups, make ups and celebrations.
"We're excited to celebrate Bravo's November lineup by partnering with Spotify to create a unique soundtrack for each show," said Ellen Stone, Executive Vice President of Marketing for Bravo and Oxygen Media. "Incorporating music allows us another creative dimension for engaging fans with our content beyond the screen and feeds our passionate fans the extra content they crave around their favorite Bravo shows."
The playlists will live within Bravo's profile on Spotify and will be accessible via the services desktop client and mobile app. Each playlist will also be embedded onto each respective show page on BravoTV.com, where fans can listen directly. On-air snipes during the premiere of each episode will also drive fans to each playlist, and Bravo and Spotify will engage in real-time Twitter conversations with fans during the episode premieres, linking directly to songs in the playlists as plots unfold.
"Bravo is the recognized leader in audience engagement and their loyal viewers demand a deeper connection with the shows and characters they love to watch every week," said Erin Clift, VP, Global Marketing and Partners, Spotify. "Our goal is to drive viewers between Spotify and Bravo to help foster that connection through the power of music."
Fans can go to BravoTV.com or Bravo's Spotify brand page http://open.spotify.com/user/bravomedia to listen to the playlists now. The new season of "The Real Housewives of Atlanta" airs Sundays at 8pm ET/PT; the new seasons of "The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills" and "Vanderpump Rules" air back-to-back Mondays from 8-10pm ET/PT; and the new series "Thicker Than Water" kicked off last night with new episodes airing Sundays at 9pm ET/PT.
