AMERICAN CONFIDENTIAL (USA, New!) - "Royal Pains" co-creator Andrew Lenchewski has booked a new drama at the network about "a principled Secret Service agent is forced by the White House to cover up secret after secret." He'll write and executive produce the hour for Universal Cable Productions, home to his recently renewed overall deal. Doug Liman and Dave Bartis of the fellow studio-based Hypnotic will also serve as executive producers. (Deadline.com)


SUPER CLYDE (CBS/CTS; W: Greg Garcia; D: Michael Fresco) - Laura Catalina Ortiz ("Holliston") has been cast in the comedy pilot, about Clyde (Rupert Grint), a meek, unassuming fast food worker who decides to become a "superhero" for the downtrodden after inheriting his uncle's fortune. She'll play Clyde's love interest Jolene, a co-worker at the fast food restaurant. Justine Lupe, Stephen Fry and Tyler Labine also star in the single-camera project. (OmniPop.com)


UNTITLED KENNETH LIN PROJECT (USA, New!) - Playwright Kenneth Lin has sold a new drama to the cable channel about "two brothers - one an ex-con, the other a small-town cop - who inherit their failing family business and turn it into a multibillion-dollar cult pyramid scheme." Their product: hope. Michael Rauch is executive producing the hour for Universal Cable Productions - via his recently re-upped overall deal - with Lin serving as a co-executive producer. Jessica Camacho will guest on "Nikita" as "a Division agent aiming to ruffle some feathers" (TVLine.com); Casey Wilson and Keegan-Michael Key are both bound for the season finale of "How I Met Your Mother" (Vulture.com); Karolina Wydra will recur on "True Blood" as "a strong, sexy, possibly dangerous vamp" (TVLine.com); and Frances Conroy, Callum Blue, Stephen Bishop, Kevin Kilner and Liza Lapira are among the faces set to appear on the new season of "Royal Pains" (Deadline.com).
