"Breaking Bad" Nominated for Best TV Series - Drama Marking First Recognition in Drama Category

Bryan Cranston ("Breaking Bad") and Jon Hamm ("Mad Men") Nominated for Best Performance by an Actor in a Television Series - Drama

New York, New York - December 13, 2012 - This morning, The Hollywood Foreign Press Association announced the nominees for the 70th Annual Golden Globe(R) Awards. AMC's critically acclaimed, award-winning original dramas "Breaking Bad," and "Mad Men" were honored with 3 nominations, the most in basic cable. Moreover, this marks the first time that "Breaking Bad" has been recognized by the HFPA in the Drama category.

The following is a statement on behalf of AMC President Charlie Collier on today's Globe(R) nominations:

AMC's nominations include:

· Best Television Series - Drama: "Breaking Bad"

AMC now has a total of four Golden Globe(R) wins and 21 nominations. This marks the first nomination for "Breaking Bad" in the Best Television Series -- Drama category and the third nomination for Bryan Cranston in the Best Performance by an Actor in a Television Series - Drama category for his portrayal of Walter White. This marks the fifth nomination for Jon Hamm who also garnered one win in 2007 in the Best Performance by an Actor in a Television Series - Drama for his portrayal of Don Draper. AMC remains the only basic cable network to win three consecutive Golden Globes(R) for Best Television Series - Drama for "Mad Men."
