DIY Network Adds New Series and Specials "Good, Better...Best," "Price It Out," and "Last House Standing" To Its 2012 First Quarter Programming Lineup

The Go-to Destination for Rip-up, Knock Out Home Improvement Television Introduces Two New Series, "Good, Better...Best" and "Price It Out," Along with "Last House Standing," a One-hour Special About Protecting Homes From Extreme Weather

NEW YORK, February 29, 2012 - This March, DIY Network will roll out two brand new series, "Good, Better...Best," a new half-hour program which takes homeowners through the dilemma of who to hire for their next remodeling job, and "Price It Out," a hilarious, half-hour quiz show about the cost of renovation fantasies. In addition, DIY Network is premiering "Last House Standing," a one-hour special that shows homeowners how to be pro-active in protecting their homes from hurricane-force winds, torrential rains, and devastating earthquakes.

"Good, Better...Best" captures licensed contractor and host Jeff Devlin as he takes one project and bids it out to three different contractors. Each contractor presents his vision for the renovation and the homeowner has to decide who to choose. Once the contractor is selected, the transformation comes to life. In the premiere episode, airing on Wednesday, March 14 at 10 p.m. ET, Devlin guides a young Philadelphia couple through the tricky renovation of their 1000 square foot attic in their Victorian home currently under construction. Since this couple disagrees on everything, getting them to decide what building materials are good, better, and best, is no easy task.

"Price It Out" debuts on Wednesday, March 7 at 9 p.m. ET and shows five different pairs of beautiful new rooms -- from bathrooms and mudrooms to kitchens and patios -- and lets the viewer guess which renovation costs more to complete. In the premiere episode, bathrooms transform from grimy to gorgeous and we see some stylishly organic kitchen renovations. But, at the end of the day, it is up to the viewer to guess just exactly how much these jaw dropping projects cost.

"Last House Standing" premieres on Friday, March 30 at 11 p.m. ET and takes extreme weather and its effects on homes to a whole new level. Host Kayleen McCabe ("Rescue Renovation") talks with experts around the country who construct the sturdiest homes and advises homeowners how to make their homes stronger prior to storm season. Throughout the special, extreme weather expert and meteorologist, Bonnie Schneider, will illustrate how powerful Mother Nature can be and provide historical context to the current trend of extreme - and unprecedented - weather conditions in the U.S.

Tune in to DIY Network to catch new decision dilemmas on "Good Better...Best," Wednesdays at 10 p.m. ET, new episodes of the quizzical "Price It Out," Wednesdays at 9 p.m. ET and to see extreme weather in full force on "Last House Standing" on Friday, March 30 at 11 p.m. ET.
