FAMILY FEUD (Syndication) - Distributor Debmar-Mercury and producer FremantleMedia North America have cleared the veteran game show through 2015 on stations covering more than 75% of the country. Steve Harvey hosts the latest incarnation, which has posted significant year-to-year gains in households (35%) and women 25-54 (40%). In addition, going forward the series will be shot in high definition. (Deadline.com)
THE MANZANIS (ABC) - Michael Rispoli and Robert Costanzo have both been cast in the Kirstie Alley-led comedy pilot, about "an opinionated wife/mother who, along with her Italian American husband, and their three kids moves to a quiet New Jersey neighborhood where they clash with their new, WASPy neighbors." Rispoli will play the husband, Nick, with Constanzo as his father, Joe. They join the previously cast Rhea Perlman, who plays Nick's mother, Camille. Marco Pennette and Dave Flebotte are behind the ABC Studios-based half-hour with JoAnn Alfano, Aaron Kaplan and Jason Weinberg also serving as executive producers. (Deadline.com)
UNTITLED GRACE PARRA PROJECT (MTV, New!) - Grace Parra ("Work It") has booked a potential comedy at the cable channel about Lina Molina, "a recent NYU grad who, because of a dire economy and grim job prospects, is forced to return home to suburban Texas to her eccentric Mexican family." Jennifer Lopez's Nuyorican Productions is behind the half-hour, which Parra will write and executive produce alongside Lopez, Simon Fields and Benny Medina with Brent Haynes overseeing the project for the network. AND IN OTHER NEWS... - Producers of FOX's upcoming "Alcatraz" have slated one to two weeks of reshoots on its seven completed episodes to date, after which production will resume on the remaining six installments of its 13-episode order (Deadline.com); Jonathan Tucker is set to recur on "Parenthood" as "a frighteningly young and attractive political candidate for whom Amber (Mae Whitman) and Kristina (Monica Potter) go to work" (TVLine.com); Mary Steenburgen has booked an arc on "30 Rock" as the "highly spirited and attractive" mother of Elizabeth Banks's Avery (EW.com); Ana Gasteyer's Sheila Shay has been upped to series regular on "Suburgatory" (EW.com); Lucy Griffiths has joined the cast of "True Blood" as Nora, "the centuries-old vampire 'sister' of Eric (Alexander Skarsgard) who is working as a double agent within the Vampire Authority" (Deadline.com); Rockmond Dunbar will return to "The Game" as Pookie, a character he played back in a 2009 episode, in six to eight episodes this season (TVLine.com); plus Charisma Carpenter is bound for "The Lying Game" as the estranged sister of Phyllis Chamberlain (Sydney Barrosse) who returns to town, stirring up trouble (TVGuide.com).
