LOS ANGELES (thefutoncritic.com) -- Syfy has cleared a fourth season of its U.K. import "Merlin," while TNT has pulled the plug on "Men of a Certain Age" after two seasons.
"TNT has been proud to be a part of Men of a Certain Age for two seasons," the latter said in a statement released to TVLine.com and other outlets. "TNT has been proud to be a part of Men of a Certain Age for two seasons. While the show has featured great storytelling and impeccable performances, the audience simply hasn't built to the point where we can continue the series. This was an extremely difficult decision for us. We wish Ray Romano, Mike Royce and the terrific cast and crew of Men of a Certain Age the very best and look forward to exploring new programming possibilities in the future."
"Age" was TNT's least-watched program this summer, averaging 1.586 million viewers and a 0.4 rating among adults 18-49. Both numbers were down from its winter run, which drew 2.162 million viewers and a 0.5 rating among adults 18-49.
As for "Merlin," TVGuide.com reports Syfy is moving forward with another cycle of the series. BBC One commissioned the new season back in October.
Season three averaged 1.493 million viewers and a 0.4 rating among adults 18-49 for the cable channel, slightly up from its sophomore run (1.277 million viewers, 0.4 rating among adults 18-49).
