CAKE DECORATING QUEEN ASHLEY VICOS TAKES HER OVER-THE-TOP CREATIONS AND OUTRAGEOUS STAFF ON THE ROAD IN "HAVE CAKE WILL TRAVEL"

March 31, 2010 - This spring, Food Network takes the cake with the new series Have Cake Will Travel, which follows Ashley Vicos, the reigning queen of the cake decorating world, and her team around the country as they create extraordinary, one-of-a-kind cakes for special events from New York's fashion week to Mardi Gras in New Orleans. Known for her bold sense of humor, blonde bombshell looks and southern twang, Ashley's approach to creating cakes reflects her over-the-top personality - and her assistants Dennis and Erin, and collaborator Mary only add to the drama in the kitchen. The seven-episode series is produced by Picture This Television and premieres on Tuesday, April 26th at 9pm ET/PT.

In the premiere episode, a call comes from the legendary Harlem Globetrotters to create a custom basketball cake for their upcoming game in Hartford and Ashley knows the cake must be arena-worthy. Tasked with designing a cake that the team can incorporate into a game, team Ashley needs to think outside the box for a concept that will impress the players. As the pressure heats up to deliver, Ashley, Dennis, Erin and Mary are down to the buzzer to deliver a slam dunk.

Upcoming episodes feature sweet road trips to prepare culinary treats for a Mardi Gras extravaganza in New Orleans, designer Rebecca Minkoff's exclusive after-party at NYC Fashion Week, a Boston Bruins fundraiser, the South by Southwest festival in Austin and the Houston Rodeo.

Ashley Vicos has been professionally decorating cakes for eleven years and owns Sweet Ashley's, a private baking studio in Atlanta. Her high-demand cakes have become so popular, she also travels around the country baking for high-profile events and top-tier clientele. Born and raised in New Orleans, her passion for cake decorating began at age five with an Easy-Bake Oven and led to a career specializing in sculpted and custom cake work. In addition to creating one-of-a-kind cakes, she teaches small groups and private cake decorating classes. A divorced mom of three daughters, Ashley has been featured on Food Network, TLC, CBS, NBC, American Cake Decorating Magazine and Modern Baking Magazine.
