ALCATRAZ (FOX) - Santiago Cabrera ("Heroes") has booked the final principal role on the drama pilot, which "chronicles the efforts of tenacious cop Rebecca (Sarah Jones) and team of FBI agents tracking down a group of missing Alcatraz prisoners and guards who reappear in the present day." He'll play Jimmy, "Rebecca's sweet-natured fiance, a uniform cop." Jason Butler Harner, Jonny Coyne, Jorge Garcia, Parminder Nagra, Robert Forster and Sam Neill also star. Bad Robot Productions and Warner Bros. Television are co-producing.
THE EVENT (NBC)/FAIRLY LEGAL (USA) - Executive producer Steve Stark has inked an overall deal with Universal Media Studios. The pact, the length and financial details of which weren't released, sets the producer's self-titled banner up at the studio where he'll develop series projects.
LITTLE IN COMMON (FOX) - The single-camera comedy, about "a group of adults who become unlikely friends because of their kids' sports teams," has been ordered to pilot. Rob Thomas ("Party Down") penned the half-hour, which comes from Warner Bros. Television. Danielle Stokdyk, Jennifer Gwartz and Dan Etheridge also serve as executive producers on the project, which is in second position for Thomas behind NBC's "Temps."
TOUCH (FOX, New!) - Tim Kring ("Heroes") has snagged a pilot order from the network for a new drama about "a man who discovers that his autistic mute son can predict events before they happen." Said hour, which Kring wrote on spec, is set up at 20th Century Fox Television and Chernin Entertainment. He'll executive produce alongside Peter Chernin and Katherine Pope.
THE WEDDING BAND (TBS) - Melora Hardin ("The Office") is the latest addition to the pilot, "an hour-long, scripted comedy that follows a group of guys who try to escape the stress and craziness of their lives by performing in a wedding band." Hardin is on board as "the sassy, demanding and opinionated president of Rutherford Events who hires the band for her events every week." FremantleMedia North America and Tollin Productions are behind the hour, which also features Brian Austin Green, Derek Miller, Harold Perrineau, Jenny Wade, Kathryn Fiore and Peter Cambor.
