Looking to keep track of all the various projects in development? Click here to visit our signature "Devwatch" section. There visitors can view our listings by network, genre, studio and even development stage (ordered to pilot, cast-contingent, script, etc.). It's updated every day!
THE CAPE (NBC) - Izabella Miko ("Coyote Ugly") is set to recur on the midseason drama. She'll continue on, after guest starring in the pilot, for at least five episodes as Raia, "a skilled and alluring circus performer."
CRIMINAL MINDS (CBS) - Rachel Nichols ("Alias") has landed a role on the veteran crime procedural. She'll play Ashley Seager, an FBI cadet who's invited "to consult on a case after learning her family history will bring a unique insight into the mind of a serial killer," in at least three episodes. Said role, originally envisioned as a new series regular, is designed to fill the void left by the departure of A.J. Cook's character.
KROG (Cartoon) - James Adomian, Josh Fadem, Will Harris, Zooey Hall, Julian Works and Justin Castor have all been cast in the comedy pilot, about "an awesome monster costume band sent from Middle Earth to conquer and enslave the human 'surface dwellers' [who prove to be a] much better band than invasion force and their missions always manage to go afoul." No details were given about their characters. Mark Rivers is behind the project, which is being produced by Cartoon Network Studios.
LAWYERS FOR LESS (FOX, New!) - Danny Comden is set to write, executive produce and star in a potential new drama at the network about "a white-shoe lawyer (Comden) coming back from disbarment for mixing business and pleasure and an enterprising black lawyer - who run a small storefront law firm specializing in ambulance chasing and defending the defenseless." Josh Pate is co-writing the hour, with Anthony and Joe Russo attached to direct. All four will executive produce alongside Happy Madison's Jack Giarraputo and Doug Robinson for the Sony Pictures Television.
THE MUNSTERS (NBC, New!) - "Pushing Daisies" creator Bryan Fuller is looking to revive the 1960s-series-turned-movie franchise for NBC. Said effort is being billed as "Modern Family" meets "True Blood" with Fuller writing and executive producing via his overall deal with Universal Media Studios.
MY LIFE AS AN EXPERIMENT (NBC, New!) - Actor Jack Black is developing a new comedy at the Peacock based on A.J. Jacobs's non-fiction book "Guinea Pig Diaries: My Life As An Experiment." Said effort revolves around "the adventures of an immersion journalist and how these unusual assignments comedically affect his home life with his wife and two kids." Cathy Yuspa and Josh Goldsmith are penning the half-hour, which has a seven-figure penalty should it not go to pilot, and will executive produce alongside Black, via his Electric Dynamite Productions, for Reveille and Sony Pictures Television.
TERRA NOVA (FOX) - British actress Shelley Conn is the latest addition to the upcoming drama, which "follows an ordinary family embarking on an incredible journey back in time to prehistoric Earth as a small part of a massive experiment to save the human race." She'll play Elisabeth Shannon, the patriarch of said family. Jason O'Mara co-stars as her husband with Stephen Lang as Commander Frank Taylor and Allison Miller as Skye. Production on the pilot begins next month in Australia with Alex Graves directing from a script by Craig Silverstein and Kelly Marcel. 20th Century Fox Television, Chernin Entertainment, DreamWorks Television and Kapital Entertainment aer co-producing.
UNTITLED CARROLL MONKS PROJECT (FOX, New!)/UNTITLED NEIL TOLKIN PROJECT (CBS, New!) - Marty Adelstein and Shawn Levy have booked two dramas as part of their recently launched 21 Laps/Adelstein banner at 20th Century Fox Television. Neil Tolkin is behind an untitled "kung-fu cop" series at CBS while Cynthia Cidre is penning a small screen take on Neil McMahon's series of novels about sleuthing physician Carroll Monks for FOX. Adelstein and Levy will executive produce each effort alongside the respective creators as well as the company's Becky Clements.
