ROOMMATES (ABC Family) - The cable channel has officially pulled the plug on the freshman comedy. Last week the network announced it would air its eight remaining installments in two-hour blocks on April 27 and May 4 (read the story), making the decision not much of a surprise. Tyler Frankavilla, Dorian Brown, Tamera Mowry, Tommy Dewey and David Weidoff co-starred.
THE SINGING BEE (NBC) - CMT is set to revive the short-lived game show, which ran for 16 episodes in 2007 on the Peacock. The new incarnation will feature a new host (Joey Fatone filled said role in the original), lose the "Bee" dancers and not surprisingly showcase more country songs. 10 new hourlong episodes then are set to roll out in June, beginning with a post-CMT Awards broadcast on Tuesday, June 16 before moving to Saturday nights where it will be paired with the second season of "Can You Duet?" The Gurin Company and Juma Entertainment are behind the project, with Phil Gurin and Robert Horowitz executive producing alongside CMT's Bob Kusbit, John Hamlin and Claire McCabe. Brennan Huntington and Lewis Fenton will also serve as co-executive producers.
