One of Ed Bradley's Last Reports Wins a Peabody for "60 Minutes"
The late Ed Bradley's report on the Duke rape case was broadcast less than a month before he died of complications from lymphocytic leukemia last November.

ONE OF ED BRADLEY'S LAST REPORTS WINS A PEABODY FOR "60 MINUTES"

One of the late Ed Bradley's last 60 MINUTES reports has won a Peabody Award, the University of Georgia's Grady College of Journalism and Mass Communication announced today. The report, "The Duke Rape Case," an investigation that seriously questioned rape charges against three Duke University lacrosse players, was broadcast less than a month before the 60 MINUTES correspondent died of complications from lymphocytic leukemia last Nov. 9.

Some charges remain in the case, but all rape charges have been dropped since the report was broadcast last Oct. 15 and a special prosecutor has been re-examining the case.

"Winning this award is a great tribute to Ed Bradley. It's a reminder of his significant contribution as a correspondent at 60 MINUTES, and his dedication to original and excellent reporting," said the broadcast's executive producer, Jeff Fager. "Right now, Ed would be very proud of his team for the fine work on this story."

The Peabody is one of the oldest and most prestigious awards given for outstanding work in electronic media. This marks the 12th Peabody for 60 MINUTES and the sixth for Bradley over his career. "The Duke Rape Case" was produced by Michael Radutzky and Tanya Simon and edited by Stephanie Palewski and Richard Koppel.
