NBC PRIMETIME RESULTS FOR THE WEEK OF NOV. 28-DEC. 4

BURBANK, Calif. -- December 6, 2005 -- NBC averaged a 3.5 rating, 9 share in adults 18-49 and 10.3 million viewers for the week of Nov. 28-Dec. 4 according to in-home viewing figures from Nielsen Media Research. This was NBC's highest-rated week in both adults 18-49 and total viewers since the week of Feb. 28-March 6, 2005.

Primetime averages for the week of Nov. 28-Dec. 4 in adults 18-49 were ABC (4.5/12), CBS (4.1/11), NBC (3.5/9), Fox (3.0/8), UPN (1.5/4) and WB (1.1/3). In overall total viewers the weekly averages were CBS (12.9 million), ABC (12.4 million), NBC (10.3 million), Fox (7.0 million), UPN (3.6 million) and WB (3.1 million).

The 28-day November 2005 sweep concluded on Wednesday, Nov. 30. Final sweep averages in adults 18-49 were: CBS and ABC (4.4/12), NBC (3.3/9), Fox (3.2/9), UPN (1.5/4) and WB (1.4/4). In total viewers, the final November sweep averages were CBS (14.6 million), ABC (11.7 million), NBC (9.6 million), Fox (7.7 million), UPN (3.7 million) and WB (3.6 million).

NBC highlights for the week of Nov. 28-Dec. 4:

* The two-hour finale of "The Biggest Loser" and an original episode of "Law & Order: Special Victims Unit" combined to give NBC its top-rated Tuesday in 18-49, total viewers and other measures in more than five years (excluding Olympics and 2000 election night coverage).

* The current cycle of "The Biggest Loser" concluded with a two-hour finale that scored that series' highest ratings ever in adults 18-49 (6.7/16) and total viewers (16.0 million), dominating its time period with NBC's strongest non-Olympic results in the slot since November 2001. "The Biggest Loser" ranked #9 out of 113 network programs this week in adults 18-49 and #5 in adults 18-34. Among women 18-34, "Biggest Loser" was the #3 show of the week, tied with ABC's "Lost."

* "Law & Order: SVU" on Tuesday locked up its highest ratings of the season, matching its second-highest 18-49 rating ever and posting the third-highest total viewership in its seven-season history. "SVU" won its hour by all key measures

* On Thursday, "The Apprentice" achieved its highest ratings of the season in both 18-49 and total viewers and "ER" posted its second-highest results of the season by those same measures.

* On Saturday, an encore "Law & Order: SVU" at 10 p.m. delivered NBC's highest 18-49 rating in the time period in more than eight months and ranked #1 in 18-49, total viewers and other key measures.

Additional NBC highlights for the week of Nov. 28-Dec. 4:

On Monday, Nov. 28, at 8 p.m. ET, "Surface" (3.1 rating, 8 share in adults 18-49, 10.0 million viewers overall) delivered its highest 18-49 rating and total viewership since Oct. 10. At 9 p.m. ET, "Las Vegas" delivered a 3.8/8 in 18-49 and 11.3 million viewers overall. And at 10 p.m. ET, "Medium" (4.5/11 in 18-49, 12.2 million viewers overall) was up 61 percent in 18-49 versus NBC's results in the time period on the same night last year (4.5 vs. 2.8).

On Tuesday, Nov. 29 at 8 p.m. ET, the finale of "The Biggest Loser" (6.7/16 in adults 18-49, 16.0 million viewers overall) scored its highest ratings ever, up 86 percent in 18-49 versus its season-to-date average prior to the finale. This was NBC's highest 18-49 rating and biggest total-viewer result in the time period, excluding Olympics, since Nov. 27, 2001. "Loser" was #1 by all key measures, posting a 56 percent margin of victory in 18-49 from 8-10 p.m. over the #2 network (6.7 for "Loser" vs. a 4.3 for Fox). In the demographic of women 18-34, "Biggest Loser" delivered an 8.5/21 and was the #3-ranked program of the week in that demographic, tied with ABC's "Lost."

Tuesday at 10 p.m. ET, "Law & Order: Special Victims Unit" (6.5/16 in 18-49, 17.5 million viewers overall) delivered its best numbers of the current season, matching its second-highest 18-49 rating ever and achieving its third-highest total viewer tally. "SVU" dominated the hour, winning in every key ratings category and beating the ABC-CBS competition combined in adults 18-34. "Law & Order: SVU" ranked #11 for the week in adults 18-49, #10 in total viewers and #9 in adults 18-34 out of 113 network programs this week.

NBC won Tuesday night with an average 6.7/16 in adults 18-49 and 16.5 million total viewers. Excluding Olympics and 2000 Election Night coverage, this was NBC's top-rated Tuesday night in both 18-49 and total viewers in more than five years (since Oct. 24, 2000). This was NBC's ninth Tuesday win in the 11 weeks so far this season.

On Thursday, Dec. 1., encore telecasts of "Joey" (2.8/8 in 18-49, 7.3 million viewers overall from 8-8:30 p.m. ET) and "Will & Grace" (3.1/8 in 18-49, 7.6 million viewers overall from 8:30-9 p.m. ET) kept NBC a decisive #2 in the hour ahead of first-run competition on Fox ("The O.C.") and ABC ("Have No Fear").

Thursday at 9 p.m. ET, "The Apprentice" (5.2/13 in 18-49, 11.7 million viewers overall) hit season-high ratings in 18-49 and total viewers. "The Apprentice" ranked #2 for the hour, outperforming the #3 program by a 174 percent margin (5.2 vs. 1.9 for Fox's "Reunion"). And at 10 p.m. ET, "ER" (6.8/18 in 18-49, 15.4 million viewers overall) scored its second-highest numbers of the season in both 18-49 and total viewers. "ER" ranked #8 out of 113 network programs this week in adults 18-49.

On Saturday, Dec. 3 at 10 p.m. ET, an encore "Law & Order: SVU" (2.9/8 in 18-49, 9.2 million viewers overall) delivered NBC's highest 18-49 rating in this time period in more than eight months (since March 12). "SVU" won the hour in 18-49, total viewers and other key measures.

On Sunday, Dec. 4 at 9 p.m. ET, "Law & Order: Criminal Intent" delivered a 3.4/7 in 18-49 and 11.9 million viewers overall, having built on its lead-in by 70 percent in 18-49 and by 4.6 million total viewers. At 10 p.m. ET, "Crossing Jordan" (3.6/9 in 18-49, 12.6 million viewers overall) ranked #2 by all key ratings measures.
