CBS TO PROMOTE FREE CBS PODCASTS ON THE iTUNES MUSIC STORE

"60 Minutes," "Face the Nation" and "Guiding Light" Among the CBS Programming Offered for Download

CBS will promote free audio downloads of select CBS programs on the iTunes Music Store, it was announced today by Larry Kramer, President, CBS Digital Media. The extensive suite of CBS podcasts includes some of the most popular news, entertainment and sports programming on television, radio and CBS Digital media sites (CBS.com, CBSNews.com, UPN.com and CBS SportsLine.com). The content is available via iTunes Podcast Directory, one of the largest directories of Podcast content in the world, as well as on CBS Digital media sites, and will be showcased in customized iTunes pages promoting the full offering of CBS podcasts for each respective CBS Digital Media property.

Once users subscribe to a particular podcast, iTunes will automatically check to see when there are new episodes, download them onto the users' computers and then the user can sync them to their iPods.

Among the network shows being offered are individual "60 Minutes" segments and the latest commentary by Andy Rooney, the latest "Face the Nation" broadcast with Bob Schieffer, and the full audio version of "Guiding Light," television's longest-running daytime drama. In addition, original content from the CBS Digital Media properties, including "Survivor Live," "Soap Box" and "NFL Today Hot Topic," as well as specially-produced podcasts from CBS Radio News have also been made available.

"Podcasting has become a way of life for an increasingly growing population, and I'm confident our programming will find a whole new audience on this hugely popular platform," said Larry Kramer. "With one click on iTunes, users can now receive podcasts from each of our divisions, including entertainment and sports. We're very pleased to be working with iTunes on this promotion, and we look forward to exposing and sharing our programming with an audience that might not be traditional TV viewers."
