It's Official: Game Over for NBC's 'Inconceivable'; 'Thick and Thin' Shortened
By Brian Ford Sullivan (TFC)

LOS ANGELES (thefutoncritic.com) -- "Inconceivable's" one-week break just got a whole lot longer as scheduling updates released by NBC this morning confirm the series won't be returning to the network anytime soon.

Repeats of "Law & Order: Criminal Intent" will continue to fill the Friday, 10:00/9:00c hour for the foreseeable future with "Grow" on October 14 and "Prisoner" on October 21.

The news comes as little surprise as fast national Nielsen ratings for this past Friday saw "Criminal Intent" (households: 5.1/9; adults 18-49: 2.3) build off "Inconceivable's" most recent numbers (households: 3.4/6; adults 18-49: 1.5 on 9/30/05) by 50.00% in households and 53.33% in adults 18-49.

It's not clear how many installments of "Inconceivable's" initial 13-episode commitment were shot or if they will be burned off at a later date.

Mike Tollin, Brian Robbins, Joe Davola, Oliver Goldstick and Marco Pennette are the executive producers of "Inconceivable," a Touchstone Television production in association with Tollin/Robbins Productions.

Meanwhile in other NBC-related news, the Peacock confirmed over the weekend it has reduced its 13-episode order for the midseason comedy "Thick and Thin" to just six installments.

It's understood the cut was made to make room for NBC's other already hefty midseason commitments, which include comedies "Filmore Middle," "Four Kings" and "Scrubs" as well as dramas "Book of Daniel," "Conviction" and "Windfall."

Paula Pell is behind the NBC Universal Television/Broadway Video Television-based "Thick and Thin," which she executive produces along with Lorne Michaels, JoAnn Alfano, Alan Cohen and Alan Freedland.
