POWER SHIFT IN THE "BIG BROTHER 6" HOUSE PUSHES RACHEL OUT THE DOOR

Rachel Plencner Is the 8th Person Evicted From the "Big Brother 6" House

LOS ANGELES -- There seems to be a recurring theme in the "Big Brother 6" house this season with the power shifting every week between the "Friendship" (Howie, Rachel and Janelle) and "Sovereign" (Maggie, Ivette, Beau and April) alliances.

Rachel Plencner, the 33-year-old horse breeder from Parker, Colo., who was perceived as a strong player by her enemies, was evicted last night from the Big Brother house. Votes were cast live on-air and Rachel was evicted by a unanimous vote. She joins Jennifer as the second jury member.

After her eviction, Rachel was interviewed by host Julie Chen.

No sooner than Kaysar walking out the front door last week did the HOH who evicted him, Jennifer, follow suit just 24 hours later. Minutes after her departure, Beau won HOH for the first time and nominated Howie and Rachel for eviction. After James won his fourth Power of Veto competition, he followed orders from the "Friendship" alliance and left Howie and Rachel on the block.

As part of the twist that is playing throughout the summer broadcasts, each of the 14 houseguests who originally entered the house believed they were the only one playing the game with a secret partner (friends, co-workers and significant others). As of today, the only remaining pair in the house is Beau and Ivette. In order to win the biggest cash prize in Big Brother history, it is up to the partners to keep their pairing intact and end up the last two people in the house, as the winner will collect $1,000,000 with the second place finisher winning $250,000. If a twosome does not make it to the final two, the winner will win $500,000.

For more information about the aftermath of Rachel's eviction log on to www.cbs.com and watch him live on "Housecalls: The Big Brother Talk Show" with Marcellas and Gretchen on Friday (1:00 PM ET/10:00 AM PT).

Last night host Julie Chen announced a second America's Choice vote on BIG BROTHER 6. Viewers will have the opportunity to cast their ballot for the current houseguest they would like to see receive a phone call from a loved one on CBS.com or vote via text messaging on their mobile phones. Votes via text messaging and CBS.com will be tabulated during a specified time window following the episode broadcast. Voters will then be informed of the outcome on the following installment of BIG BROTHER 6 to be broadcast Tuesday, August 30 (9:00-10:00 PM, ET/PT) on the CBS Television Network. CBS will offer the text messaging option as well as downloadable wireless applications relating to BIG BROTHER 6, through a partnership with GoldPocket Wireless.

BIG BROTHER 6 is broadcast each week on Tuesdays (9:00-10:00 PM, ET/PT), Thursdays (8:00-9:00 PM, live ET/delayed PT) and Saturdays (8:00-9:00 PM, ET/PT). The Thursday broadcast, hosted by Julie Chen, features the live eviction of one of the houseguests.
