Wagner Is Wild About Wild Horses

[via press release from The Hallmark Channel]

WAGNER IS WILD ABOUT WILD HORSES

Lindsay Wagner is passionate about America's wild horses and troubled by the possibility of their extinction. Imagine Wagner's delight when she was offered the starring role in "Thicker Than Water" a Hallmark Channel Original movie that addresses their plight.

After a six year hiatus from television, Wagner jumped at the chance of working on a movie that would educate viewers as well as entertain. Wagner, who has owned ranches in both Oregon & Montana for many years, is currently residing in Los Angeles. Although LA is her hometown, Wagner was missing her home on the range when this opportunity arose.

"It was heaven for me to go to work everyday on a ranch location, since my own ranch is where I loved to go to escape."

"For a long time there were no laws protecting wild horses," says Wagner. "They were being rounded up and sold for dog food, or hunted for sport, which is something that was brought out in the movie. Finally, federal law protects these primal creatures, but they still face extinction today."

"Thicker Than Water" is the story of two women from different walks of life - a privileged, city-bred attorney (Melissa Gilbert) and a Rodeo Queen's daughter (Wagner) - who discover they might be sisters. While the women figure each other out, they bond as they work to protect a small herd of wild horses - a disappearing link to the American West. Premiering on the Hallmark Channel Saturday, March 12 (9/8c), "Thicker Than Water" also stars Brian Wimmer and Lindy Newton.
