ALL RISE (CBS) - Samantha Marie Ware and Shalim Ortiz will both recur on the new season as "Judge Lola Carmichael's new law clerk" Vanessa "Ness" Johnson; and Joaquin Luna, "a young photographer and political activist who crosses paths with public defender Emily Lopez," respectively. (TVLine.com)
EARTHSOUND (Apple TV+, New!) - Offspring Films has scored a 12-episode order for a new half-hour natural history series which "uses audio technology and cinematic 360 sound design to reveal the unexpected, unfamiliar and untold natural stories on every continent of the planet." The company's Alex Williamson will executive produce the project with Sam Hodgson, Justin Anderson, Joe Stevens and Tom Payne producing. (Deadline.com)
FOR LIFE (ABC) - Star Nicholas Pinnock has been made a producer on the show's second season. Said news comes as the series returns to filming following a two-week break, caused by "inconsistent testing that resulted in positive, then negative, COVID-19 test results for multiple people involved with the production." (Variety.com)
ON BECOMING A GOD IN CENTRAL FLORIDA (Showtime) - The pay channel has opted not to move forward with the show's previously commissioned second season. "Last year, Showtime renewed On Becoming A God In Central Florida but unfortunately, due to the pandemic, we were unable to move forward with production on the new season," the network said in a statement. "The pandemic has continued to challenge schedules across the board, and although we have made every effort to reunite the cast and crew for a second season, that has become untenable. It is with great regret that we are acknowledging On Becoming a God will not return." (Deadline.com)
OUTPOST, THE (The CW) - The netlet has extended the fantasy-adventure series with an additional 13 episodes. (Deadline.com)
PERIPHERAL, THE (Amazon) - Gary Carr is the latest addition to the William Gibson adaptation as Wilf, "a publicist living in the 22nd century, with the book alternating between his perspective and Flynne's (Chloƫ Grace Moretz)." (Variety.com)
TEN TON CHUM (Quibi, New!) - Michelle Rodriguez is set to host a new documentary series for the streaming service which is "engineering the largest controlled feeding frenzy the ocean has ever seen by dropping 10-ton (that's 20,000 pounds) ball of shark chum into open waters. Uniquely, the bait ball will be constructed around a protective shark cage, allowing divers to immerse with the gathering storm of sharks and other apex marine predators, which may include giant squid or sperm whales, as it descends into the depths." MAK Pictures is behind the project with Mark Kadin and Will Ehbrecht serving as executive producers. (Deadline.com)
TERROR LAKE DRIVE (UMC, New!) - Malik Yoba will star in a six-part limited series for the company billed as "a suspenseful drama that follows a single mother from Baltimore who - on the heels of a recent pandemic and growing social unrest - relocates to Atlanta in an attempt to dodge her troubled past. As she settles into her new surroundings, she soon discovers that there are some things she can never run away from." Shannon Kane, Donielle T. Hansley Jr. and Lamman Rucker also star in the project, which will bow on Thursday, November 26. Kajuana S. Marie, Jumaane Ford and director Jerry LaMothe are the executive producers for J. LaMothe Entertainment with Dianne Ashford and Visionary Media's Samad Davis producing. (Deadline.com)
UNICORN, THE (CBS) - Natalie Zea will return to recur on the show's second season after guest starring in the finale as Shannon, "the mystery woman Wade (Walton Goggins) felt an instant connection with during a brief encounter." (Deadline.com)
