AFTER WOMAN'S MURDER CONVICTION WAS OVERTURNED AND WITH A NEW TRIAL IN LIMBO, '20/20' INVESTIGATES IF SHE REALLY DID IT

Kimberly Long, Alleged Killer of Boyfriend, Tells Her Side of the Story

'20/20' Airs on the West Coast Saturday, February 4, on ABC

After two trials, Kimberly Long was convicted of brutally murdering her boyfriend, Ozzy Conde, spent seven years in prison and, with the help of The California Innocence Project, now has a new shot at justice. With her conviction overturned last June and the possibility of a third trial, "20/20" investigates whether she really committed this violent crime, as the prosecution alleges. ABC News correspondent Matt Gutman sat down with Kimberly as she tells her side of the story. This "20/20" report also includes video of Kimberly's testimony at the June 2016 hearing, a tour of the crime scene with defense investigator Bill Sylvester and interviews with Alissa Bjerkhoel, attorney with The California Innocence Project; Ozzy's ex-girlfriend; Joe Bugarski, Kimberly's ex-husband and more. "20/20" airs only on the West Coast, SATURDAY, FEBRUARY 4 (10:00-11:00 p.m. PST), on ABC. (OAD: 10/7/16)

Kimberly and Ozzy spent October 5, 2003, drinking with their biker friends in Corona, California. Twelve hours later, Kimberly says she had consumed up to 22 drinks, and she and Ozzy began to fight. When they returned home, the fight escalated, and their friend Jeff Dills took Kimberly to his home. A few hours later, Jeff dropped Kimberly back at her home where she claims to have found Ozzy bludgeoned to death. One month after the murder, police arrested her under the theory that she returned home, murdered Ozzy, disposed of her clothes and the murder weapon, cleaned herself up and called 911. The first trial resulted in a hung jury, but in the second trial she was found guilty and sentenced to 15 years to life. Alissa and The California Innocence Project combed through every detail of the case and discovered key pieces of evidence never presented by the defense, which resulted in the judge ordering a new trial, a decision that the prosecution is now appealing. Will there be a new trial, or will the prosecution drop the case? Over 13 years after Ozzy was murdered, Kimberly is out of jail awaiting to find out what will happen next.

"20/20" is anchored by Elizabeth Vargas and David Muir. David Sloan is senior executive producer.
