A MILLIONAIRE IS WILLING TO SHELL OUT $80,000 TO HAVE SOMEONE KILL HIS WIFE - WHAT COULD POSSIBLY GO WRONG?

"48 Hours" Investigates in "The Millionaire, The Model & The Hit Man"

Tuesday, June 9, 2015

Did a millionaire really want his model wife dead so badly that he was willing to hire a hit man to kill her? And if he did, was $80,000 enough to get the job done?

Troy Roberts and 48 HOURS investigate the twisted relationship between millionaire health supplement distributor and a wannabe rock 'n' roller, Dino Guglielmelli, his model wife, Monica Olsen, and the presumed hit man who came into the picture, Richard Fuhrmann, in an updated encore edition of "The Millionaire, The Model & The Hit Man" to be broadcast Tuesday, June 9 (10:00 PM, ET/PT) on the CBS Television Network.

"This story is definitely ripe for a made-for-TV movie where you have the ex-model-turned-housewife, with the millionaire husband who is cheating on his wife, and tries to hire a hit man because he's not winning his divorce," Los Angeles Assistant District Attorney Emily Cole told 48 HOURS.

Guglielmelli and Olsen were married for seven years and seemed to have a perfect relationship. He was a dashing executive, who fronted a rock band. She was model and mother of two beautiful children. But authorities say he was cheating on Olsen all along and a friend told 48 HOURS he was upset Olsen had returned to modeling. Their relationship fell apart.

"She was beautiful," said Olsen's friend, Olya Banar. "She is very photogenic. If this whole thing wouldn't have happened we would see her on the big screens right now, definitely."

When he couldn't get his way in the divorce, prosecutors maintain, Guglielmelli asked Fuhrmann to kill Olsen. Fuhrmann went to authorities and agreed to wear a wire. Over lunch, Fuhrmann got Guglielmelli to repeat that he would pay $80,000 to have Olsen killed.

Not so, Guglielmelli told Roberts. "I really didn't think anybody was going to be dead, I mean, I'm just answering the question," he told Roberts. "I know what the tape appears to be like, but I didn't take any of it seriously, I really didn't."
