A 25-YEAR MARRIAGE COMES TO A SUDDEN VIOLENT END. NOW A JURY DECIDES IF A WIFE HAD THE RIGHT TO KILL "SHOWDOWN IN THE BEDROOM" SATURDAY, JUNE 30 (10:00 PM, ET/PT)

Everyone seemed to know that Charlene Hill was abused by her husband, Danny, throughout most of their 25-year marriage. The abuse ended in their bedroom in November 2006 when Charlene, fearing he was going to kill her, pumped three bullets into her husband, killing him. Charlene then dialed 911 and admitted shooting Danny - in self-defense.

In this updated 48 HOURS MYSTERY rebroadcast, Richard Schlesinger raises serious questions about spousal abuse and the limitations of the law. Would Danny have killed Charlene if she had not killed him first? She first stood trial for murder in 2009, but after the jury deadlocked the judge declared a mistrial. Two years later, she was retried.

Schlesinger examines forensic evidence police say contradicts Charlene's version of the shooting. He also interviews Charlene, as well as her son and daughter.
