AMERICAN ENTREPRENEUR TRIES TO TURN BEAUTY INTO BOUNTY FOR THE POOR IN MOZAMBIQUE ? ? "60 MINUTES" SUNDAY

Some of the poorest people in the world live next to some of the earth's most incredible beauty, a natural resource that Greg Carr thinks can bring jobs and hope for the people living near Gorongosa National Park in Mozambique. Scott Pelley reports on Carr and his efforts to improve Gorongosa and the lives of its human neighbors - using $40 million of his own money -- on 60 MINUTES, Sunday, Oct. 26 (7:00-8:00 PM, ET/PT) on the CBS Television Network.

After a civil war decimated the animal as well as the human population, Carr, who made his fortune developing voice mail, is reintroducing species to the park to lure deep-pocked tourists. "Attract the tourists who will spend the money to create the jobs and lift everybody out of poverty," he says. "For an entrepreneur, it's kind of a compelling opportunity...one plus one equals 10."
