JOSE CANSECO'S ALLEGATIONS OF STEROID USE IN BASEBALL ON "60 MINUTES" THAT LED TO GOVERNMENT HEARINGS WILL BE REBROADCAST SUNDAY, AUG. 7 ON CBS

CBS News will rebroadcast the controversial 60 MINUTES interview with Jose Canseco that led to the government hearings on steroid use in Major League Baseball this Sunday, Aug. 7 (7:00-8:00 PM, ET/PT) on the CBS Television Network.

The interview, in which the former major-league slugger discussed his book, Juiced: Wild Times, Rampant 'Roids, Smash Hits and How Baseball Got Big, is extremely timely now. A congressional panel is investigating whether Baltimore Orioles star Rafael Palmeiro -- accused of steroid use by Canseco in the 60 MINUTES interview -- committed perjury when he denied under oath using the banned drug at the subsequent hearings conducted by the House Government Reform Committee last spring.

Mike Wallace's interview with Conseco will be updated with this new information and footage of Palmeiro testifying to the committee.
