INTENSE HIGH-SPEED CHASE AND K-9 UNIT CALLED TO MAKE DRUG INVESTIGATION CRYSTAL-CLEAR ON "COPS: COAST TO COAST" SATURDAY, DECEMBER 18, ON FOX

When Officer Tom Hemsley of the Jacksonville, FL, Sheriff's Office attempts a routine traffic stop, the driver of the car refuses to yield and stops just long enough for the passengers to flee. The suspect then leads Officer Hemsley on a high-speed pursuit on several busy highways. After the driver loses control of the vehicle and crashes into a guardrail, he bails out of the vehicle, jumps off an overpass and disappears into the night. Officer Hemsley tries to give chase, but sustains a head injury when he jumps off the overpass and is transported to an area hospital. Another segment features Officer Jonathan Acosta of the Maui County, HI, Police Department, investigating a suspicious van parked in front of the residence of a known drug dealer. The driver and passenger are ordered from the vehicle and questioned. After learning about the female's previous drug-related arrests, Officer Acosta suspects that her backpack may contain crystal methamphetamine and calls for the K-9 unit on COPS: COAST TO COAST Saturday, Dec. 18 (8:30-9:00 PM ET/PT) on FOX.
